We are filming What’s Inside, Professor? on the cheap using modern very-low-cost production methods. Not really pioneered by them so much as articulated at UC Berkeley’s j-school, you can read about the philosophy in their DV cookbook. Here is a rundown of the basics of our gear:
- Panasonic AG-DVX100A camera
- Panasonic AG-LA7200G anamorphic adapter
- Sennheiser ME66/K6 shotgun mic
- Sony UWB-C1 UHF wireless lavalier mics
- DV Rack laptop video waveform monitor
- Arri 300W and 650 W fresnel lights
- Lowell 1000W open faced DP light
- Photoflex CineDomeâ„¢ soft box
Whoa – what a setup!
I wonder about going forward with standard definition, rather than a high-def format. We are shooting using the anamorphic adapter, so the film will be native widescreen. The barrier to HD is financial at this point. Any advice?
