I am reading Osha Neumann‘s new book. It is a fascinating and gripping memoir of his time as a 1960s anarchist in New York City. I’ll update this entry as I digest it (and when I am more awake – I worked 90 clinical hours from Sat-Fri, slept three hours before Yoyo’s sixth birthday party, and now I am back at work), but I can already say: read it.
The 60s has quite a grip on our imagination. One thing I have had trouble reconciling is the divergent threads of hippie vs
free speech activist.
